To fall in love with you is to crave you

to crave your touch
your scent
the way your body feels
your words
your melody
your laughter
your soul

to love you is to endlessly rave about

your patient and kind spirit, the one that never ceases to appreciate the goodness
that only He can bring, while you patiently wait for the next wonderful moment

to love you is to endlessly rave about

your spirit, which is never envious or jealous and delights in the marvelous blessings
you have received and others are entitled to

to love you is to endlessly rave about

your being which never boast and is only proud to the extent that your
accomplishments are His accomplishments

to love you is to endlessly rave about

your willingness to share your soul with others, even in your most humbling,
introverted moments.

to love you is to endlessly rave about

your desire to respect yours and His way, while making room for our way

to love you is to endlessly rave about

your being which is always positive, uplifting, friendly and welcoming to any and
everyone in need

to love you is to endlessly rave about

your spirit who keeps no records of wrong doings and delights in making room for right
beginnings

to love you is to endlessly rave about

your soul who isn’t afraid of the truth and sees no purpose for lies and wrong doings

to love you is to endlessly rave about … you because you are worth believing in, standing up for, thanking Him for, being loyal to and simply expecting the best from

there is no way I can fail, loving you!

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NLT

“So now, brethren, I commend you (Claire) to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Acts 20:32 NKJV

have you ever looked around your kitchen and wondered how that

spaghetti your child loves so much … ended up on your wall?

or how toothpaste found its way to the bathroom counter?

or even how soap scum mysteriously made its way around the shower stall?

it’s the power of splatter

and

wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could remember the power of splatter

before we

decide to curse our neighbor

tell our friends off

belittle our children

be unfriendly to our spouse and

unkind to our co-workers

it would be …… wonderful

for in those precious moments, we splatter venom into the world

that may be very difficult to clean up later …

next time, consider the the power of splatter

“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” Ephesians 4:29

Every action has a moment

and every moment has a reason

let not your actions

be for the wrong reason

if so, the moment is lost

never to be captured again

consider an action

that will make the moment

memorable!

“Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’   This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important:  ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22: 37-39 NLT

“So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.  However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV

If you had asked me about seven years ago, would I have imagined Poetic Mustard Seeds, I would have told you no way.  I knew writing poetry was a gift God blessed me with but honestly, I did not have the courage to really expect much from it.  But I love how Jill Scott embodies the poet’s charge in her poem titled “I Will Write”.  This week, only a story will be posted.  Once a quarter, I am going to share a story from my heart, that is not on my post schedule; I am going to allow God to speak to you through me, and say what He desires me to share.  If you read last week’s post titled “Peter’s Haiku”, I am embodying the character of the disciples, because I am not a fan of Jesus Christ; I am a follower of Jesus Christ.

Jill Scott’s “I Will Write” excerpted from “The Moments, the Minutes, the Hours” reads

I will write

Ina way that will surprise you

Shock you and offend

Ignite an impregnate

Some

It is the cause and the purpose my sweets

Poets must think and re think

I will write

Ina way that will make you love me

Well some of you

I am thinking

Think too

You must not always agree

You must not believe me higher

I am a poet

This is my job

I will write

When I finally understood to use my gift was a mandate from God and to not use it was, metaphorically, a slap in His face, (cause’ He made me like this, in His wonderful image) my soul was terribly convicted.  The enemy attempts to do a spectacular job at causing us to believe that we are not worthy; that we do not have purpose; that we must do evil like hijack a plane full of passengers; that we must destroy precious relationships and to even die with our dreams laying alongside us in our coffins.

But, I am a poet. Always have been and now I know without a doubt, that everything I do for Christ will last and everything that has absolutely nothing to do with Him, fades without leaving any lasting purpose or legacy.

If you are the best corn rower on your street, do it to the glory of God; if you are the best unknown painter in your class, paint to the glory of God; if you are the best teacher to a class of what seems to be the most unruly students, serve to the glory of God; if you are the best leader in your organization, do it to the glory of God.  Because all that you do in His name and to His glory – lasts.

You have purpose my dear. You have purpose my love. You have purpose!  Rise up and join me with your gift, as I write, because I too am a Poet.

we live in a world where taking a ride means hoping in a car

or taking a cab to our next destination

I live in a world where I’d rather take a long stroll

and yearn to feel the sweat trickle down my loins with each step I take

we live in a world where it’s easier to pick up a phone, any kind of phone

or send a text message to reach our party

I live in a world where it tickles my soul to select fine linen paper

in anticipation of the notes I’m certain to send

we live a world where bars and chains grace our windows

and doors in an attempt to keep us safe

I live in a world where I feel like I’m in bondage

when ever I leave home and forget to put the alarm on

we live in a world that celebrates life

I live in a world that celebrates death

we live in a world where conversation is

a lost commodity, unless of course, there’s something to be gained

I live in a world where I long to

feel a non-sexual orgasm just at the crux of the right syllable

we live in a world where light bulbs are a must

I live in a world devoid of man made light and thirst for the

light that only candles and wood illuminate

we live in a world where the sun brings enjoyment

and the rain brings depression

I live in a world where the sprinkle of the rain

on either side of my cheeks makes me dance with splendor

we live in a world where we plant trees for shade and

quickly cut them down to make paper

I live in a world where I marvel the strength of every tree’s branch

and can only conceptualize a hammock swinging in the wind

we live in a world where love is a rare commodity

I live in a world where life isn’t worth living without love

we live in a world where you’re forced to conform to survive

I live in a world where I’ll die if I totally conform

so…

I am keeping my world

Join me because God says, “So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:31 NLT

I stand at the door
wondering when you will let Me in

I stand at the door
waiting for you to realize your survival depends on Me

I stand at the door
waiting for you to turn the loud noises of your life … down

I stand at the door
wondering when I will hear your tap

I stand at the door
wondering when you will peek through the peep hole to My Word

I stand at the door
wondering when you will turn the knob and come to Me

I stand at the door
wondering when you will understand the time is now

I stand at the door
because I will never force My way in

I stand at the door
waiting and wondering why it’s taking you so long
… to knock on the door so I can give you unspeakable joy

Please don’t keep Me standing at the door
… waiting … and
… waiting … and
… waiting … before it becomes too late

I stand …
awaiting your knock!

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 NLT

You know how you walk into a store
to look for the perfect dress
searching high and low
… and then
… and then
… and then
you see it!
It’s bad!
You imagine yourself in it!
You try it on
girl, you look good!
Just wanna pinch yourself
chile, the dress was made for you
“Oh my gosh, I found it!”
you don’t need a girdle, just the right hardware and the right shoes

you know?
I know you know what I mean
you goin’ be banging when you wear that dress!

But girl, let me tell you about the dress I found
It is the ultimate dress
you talk about lookin’ good!?
I have never looked better

the label read “Jesus”
girl, you talk about a dress

chile, He will
Drape you in His love
Renew your soul
Embrace you with His grace
Shake you free and
Send you on your way, lookin fine as ever

girl, I ain’t never found a dress so beautiful

so get excited about finding the right dress
… cause it really is all about ‘how ya dressed?”

“Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 NLT
